E-consultation Service


What is an e-consultation?


E-Consultation is a brand new service which allows you to securely message the practice to ask a GP or healthcare professional question. It is an online service to bring choice to patients who want to consult online. It is a simple and convenient tool which enables all patients who are registered with the practice to request health advice from their medical team by simply filling out a short online triage form. The form has a series of questions relating to the problem that you enter at the beginning of the consultation, these are some of the questions a GP may ask you in an appointment. It also gives you an option to upload a photo if your medical problem is visual. Your medical problem and a summary of the answered questions will then be sent to the surgery and will be processed (within 1 working day where possible, excluding weekends and bank holidays). Requests recieved after 4pm will be processed after the next working day. You will then be contacted by a member of the medical team.


Please note this is NOT an emergency service.


What are the benefits?

  • In many cases E-Consultation will avoid the need to visit their GP practice alogether, saving time and a journey.
  • Patients who submit their symptoms online will get a response typically within 1-2 working days which could be advice, directed to other support such as the pharmacy or booked in for an appointment if necessary.
  • It offers NHS self-help information, signposting to services, and a symptom checker.
